Detroit Blight Busters is a nonprofit in Detroit, Michigan, dedicated to improving neighborhoods for over 35 years. Founded by local residents, it leverages community partnerships and people power to transform abandoned structures into thriving spaces of opportunity. One of its key partnerships is with LOHA, which has designed multiple projects for DBB, including Motor Java House, Sunflower Arts Center, Sweet Potato Sensations, The Obama Building, Old Redford Theater, Kidz Camp, and Orchard Village.
The brochure is a 25.5" x 11" accordion-fold piece with five panels. The front features an illustrated parallel view of all the projects, showcasing their scale, massing, and elevations while aligning with LOHA's graphic style and DBB's vision for a revitalized neighborhood. The back includes an introduction, images of each project, and an overall map of their locations.
The accordion fold allows for a dynamic presentation: folded, the cover offers a glimpse of the envisioned Detroit; fully opened, the elements align seamlessly, enhancing the storytelling and design.
